Inaugural Ball a Great Success!

Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada’s Inaugural Ball Surpasses Goal and Raises $1.2 million

Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Canada’s Inaugural Ball was a great success, raising $1.2 million, which will go directly towards the construction of the new Glen site hospital. “The ball’s goal was to raise $1 million and we surpassed that,” announced ball honorary co-chair and President and Co-Founder of the Montreal Impact Joey Saputo. “Joey and I have been so impressed with this world-renown hospital and have been honored to co-chair the inaugural ball together. We should all be proud to have such a great institution here in Canada,” remarked ball honorary co-chair Carmie Saputo.

Gantt.

“I would like to salute Carmie and Joey Saputo for taking on “The One & Only” Inaugural Ball and for their generosity towards all of the families we help,” said Mr. Gino Beretta, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada. “I would like to thank them for the time, determination and leadership they have shown in making this event such a success,” Beretta continued.

“We consider this new facility the flagship of our network of 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children here in Canada, in the US and Mexico,” said Imperial Potentate Jerry G. Gantt, Shriners International. “As its consruction is financed entirely by donations, the Exceptional Care for Exceptional Kids campaign is crucial,” he pointed-out. The campaign’s goal is $130 million and thanks in part to the ball, we are now at $124.4 million.

“The One and Only” ball would not have been such a success without the support of all our donors and sponsors, in particular our Diamond sponsors: Letko Brosseau, Placements Borsa | Famille Elina et Giuseppe Borsellino, Roasters Foundation, Saputo Inc., Fondation Mirella et Lino Saputo and The Rossy Family Foundation, as well as our Platinum sponsors: Carmie & Joey Saputo Foundation and J.E. Hanger Inc. de Montréal. We would also like to thank our Gold sponsors: Broccolini Construction, Giuseppe Monticciolo Senior and Family, MEGA | MATTEL, Placements Benirosa and Power Corporation.

“This inaugural ball has been such a great way to toast the official opening of our new hospital on October 5th,” said Ms. Céline Doray, Administrator of the Shriners Hospitals for Children - Canada.
