Our Patient Phil Completed Spartan Race Calgary with Al Azhar Shriners!
The Calgary Spartan Race Sprint was Saturday, August 13 and our Al Azhar Shriners were there volunteering along with former patient Jung Yeun! Our patient ambassador Phil was also there and ran the Spartan Race (his 3rd this season), proving once again that disabilities do not necessarily mean limitations!
Phil is 19 and has cerebral palsy, an intellectual disability and ADHD. He’s had 4 surgeries and countless hours of physiotherapy at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada. It wasn’t sure he’d run or walk properly… but thanks to his determination and the care at Canada Shriners hospital, he is now doing Spartan Races, considered among the toughest obstacle courses in the world.
Encourage him by donating to his Spartan Race fundraiser. All funds to towards helping more kids like Phil walk, run… or even complete a Spartan Race.
Al Azhar Shriner Dennis Macaso and a team from Imperial Oil in Calgary also ran the race and raised money for Canada Shriners Hospital. Thank you to all of you and congratulations on your race!
